Pain. Just the word makes us wince. So, just imagine if you were subject to chronic pain. It seems that the more we are subject to pain in a certain region, the lower the threshold for manifesting subsequent pain.

Can we tame the terror card?
Do you ever wonder why some of these folks in the Middle East, Idaho, or Chechnya decide to become terrorists? What makes them consider killing innocent children, women, and men- and losing their own lives?
You call this food?
I was listening to Science Friday today (ok, this was written on 9 March) where my friend, Ira Flatow, was interviewing Barb Stuckey. She wrote a book, Taste What You’re Missing, where, among other things, she writes why food tastes so pitifully bad on an airplane.
Heart Attack Hope?
I am now of the age when hearing thst a friend or acquaintance succumbed to a heart attack is not that geeat a shock. That loss of oxygen flow to the heart- from a blood clot, an occlusion, or other trauma- is not always fatal, thank G0d. But, when the heart heals, there is scar tissue- and the heart is ‘never as good as new’. But, that may be about to change. Two different groups are trying similar techniques. A third is using a slight different concept.
Time, Time, Time, is (not) on my side…
Time management. I must have taken more than 50 courses. Given that background, one would think I’m an expert. Yeah, right.
Let all who are hungry come and eat
I just celebrated the beginning of Pesach- the 7 or 8 day holiday you may know as Passover. The first night or two (depends on where you live and your customs) is a communal meal of study and discussion, called the Seder. The words of the title form the primary statement said at the very beginning of the Seder. The fourth (of 15) part of this event is called ‘Yachatz’, where the leader breaks the middle matza of three on the Seder table into two, unequal pieces. (Matza is the unleavened bread that carries conflicting interpretations – it’s both the bread of affliction and the bread of freedom.)
Ready. Fire. Aim.
I’ve been tempted to join in the fray. To work with a university and teach entrepreneurial programs. After all, I’ve been a successful entrepreneur (and an unsuccessful one) for more than 4 decades. And, I do believe that entrepreneurial efforts are what keeps this country (and the rest of the world) great. But, I have this nagging problem….
7 & 7 (no, not the drink)
So, Janine Ripper offered me up with another award– another 7 links challenge, different from the first such award for which I had to respond. And, before I got that request out of my queue, Shawn R. Snyder provided me with yet another challenge (Inquiring Minds Want To Know). Given those nominations (dares?), I have prepared my responses accordingly.
You must be a magnet, because I’m attracted to you
Stress. Dealing with stress. One of the oldest methods of dealing with stress is drinking. To excess. How old? Evolutionarily old. Which explains why addiction is such a difficult problem for us humans to control.

Helicopter. Ego. Growth.
I’m sure by now you know that I’m a reasonably religious fellow. (No, I did not say I was reasonable; I said that my religion is a basic foundation of my life 🙂 ). And, given that, I believe that the Supreme Being (SB) created this world in 6 days. Now, let’s not worry about the literal sense, since the Tora defines a day as evening and morning. Given the fact that there were no luminaries at first and the world may or may not have been spinning, that first day could have been a millennium or a 1000 millennia using our chronometers.
