Well, it’s really not today. It’s not even tomorrow, because this incarnation began 1 June 2010. Four years ago- but that was after a less frequent attempt to pen my blog.

H2O Woes
What do fracking, copper mining, and concrete manufacture have in common? An insatiable appetite for water.
I have designer genes…
I bought T-shirts with just that statement for my girls (then, my only children) some three decades ago. It clearly was my sense of humor- but my sense of destiny and life.
Pondering the imponderable…
It was more than a few years ago. I was sitting in our board room, discussing the plan to shut down our company. The one we started some 25 years prior.
Memorial Day
I’ve written about prejudice and hate in the world (on my blog and other places such as Reflections of a Redhead). It’s something that is taught by parents to their children. It’s something that makes this world just a little tougher to survive.
Stand up and be counted. Even anonymously.

Basic?
It’s been 50 years since Basic (OK, BASIC) was developed was first used. BASIC stands for Beginner’s All-purpose Symbolic Instruction code. Drs. John Kemeny and Tom Kurtz pioneered the development of this computer language at Dartmouth.
Cost Overruns
Living in the DC metropolitan area means you are always surrounded by politicians. And, in today’s society, that almost always means you are being surrounded by folks who are skilled mendicants. It gets even ‘better’ when the news media explains their actions by saying this is to be expected.
XXXIII
Yesterday was one of my favorite days of the year. One most of you have never heard about. One that I have celebrated since I was 5 years old. (Maybe, earlier, but that is the first time I remember doing so.)
