My then  23 month old daughter was watching Sesame Street on TV. And, our TV was just a black and white set. Until that day. When I went out and bought a Kenmore (Sears) color TV, so she would know what the balloon colors were.

It’s Time for Regulatory Action

I admit it.  I hardly travel nowadays. Oh, don’t get too excited. My comparison is from 20 and 30 years ago, when I commuted from Charlottesville (Virginia) to Long Beach (California) – 3 to 4 times a week. And, I went to Atlanta once every other week. And, New York twice a month. Taiwan once a month. Paris once a month. Milwaukee, Kansas City, Corpus Christi, and Dallas once a week. And, about 5 more trips a quarter.

Kidney Transplant Hopes?

There are some 10000 folks dying- while on the list to receive a kidney transplant- every year.  But, there are still no stem cell produced kidneys.  Which is why some Wake Forest researchers are seeking ways to skirt the political bugaboos regarding stem cells – and still trying to increase the availability of kidneys for those in need.

Yesterday, we spoke about two new approaches to cancer therapy. Today, we’ll consider other aspects of these new treatments.  No.  We really aren’t.   Because yesterday, we spoke about new tools in our arsenal against cancer.  What we are really going to talk about today is a paradigm shift, something that is sometimes termed ‘precision medicine’.

Big Rigs 2

Yesterday, we discussed all these new apps that are supposed to make our long-haul drivers’ lives better and easier.  But, there are plenty of clouds on the horizon.  As I’ve written before, those driverless cars sound pretty good- until you consider what it means for taxi drivers.  That same thing applies to driverless trucks.
