I apologize for some of the complexity that will be present in today’s blog. But, I have been using these terms for decades, and they are critical to understand the principles. I will try to explain them so you can see the issues.
It’s been widely reported that Fiat Chrysler finally had to admit that their cars could be hacked. Which should surprise no one. I’ve reported the same could be done with pacemakers. And, I also discussed that the same gateway that makes cars vulnerable can be exploited on airplanes.
Years ago, I was active in the “speed” community. No, I am not talking about the fact that I had (have?) a lead foot. I raced cars. We modified the computer chips in car engines to augment the horsepower and performance they yielded. One of the improvements actually increased the horsepower of Porsches by more than 100 HP!
Don’t get me wrong. I love parks. When my kids were young, we walked (or, occasionally drove) to them to enjoy the gorgeous views, the trees, the grass (and, sometimes the play equipment). I still ride my bike along the Potomac River, the C&O Canal, the O&D Trail enjoying the view as I hustle along.
Decades ago, I became involved with a few water treatment companies. (These firms were actually venturing into water reuse and industrial water needs; they also asked us to help them with their entire business efforts.) It was an eye opener when we saw their water supply business. This was long before it was normal to see those 5 gallon jugs in our offices and home, proffering cold (and hot) drinking water for our needs.
Yesterday, I spoke about my art work- but mostly the choices of picking out a frame and mat. Of course, that also meant the price for those accoutrements.
