I am sure you are all wondering what’s been happening about the dialysis patient organizations- and, now, it seems that some dialysis clinics- are paying the health insurance premiums for dialysis patients. (I first discussed this issue here). There is a new complainant- it’s not just private insurance companies now.

Ah-one, ah-two!
Leonard Bernstein. Arthur Fielder. Michael Tilson Thomas. Marvin Hamlisch. Marin Alsop.
I always made sure I attend(ed) as many concerts led by these folks as I could. But, while I enjoyed their musical performances, I could never put my finger on exactly what made these folks such great musical leaders.
Just a swoop of the pencil?
I have been an advocate of telemedicine for decades. Way back when my friend Nancy was a nurse and working with other health professionals to make this concept a reality.
And the fees go up…
Many of my clients find themselves in deep trouble around 15 April. They have badly miscalculated (maybe I should use the word ‘misconstrued’) how much they will have to pay the IRS.
Flesh Eating Bacteria Coming to You Soon?
Global Warming. Wait- don’t run away. This is a whole new take on the problem.
No, I am not going to say (as many an idiotic politician declares) that it is a hoax. Yes, the rise in sea level is real. Ask anyone who lives in Norfolk or the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Ocean front property is often one’s front door nowadays.

When I first began designing water treatment (and water reuse) systems back in the 1970s, the primary method used to ensure that microbial populations were kept at bay was chlorination. At least in the States. Europe relied on ozonation. (Think about this for a second- when so many of your population was killed by chlorine gas during war time, you have a hard time thinking it’s a good thing to use to render your water safe.)
Has Hell Frozen Over?
A new day may be dawning. Or not.
Most of you know that I work with a slew of folks and companies to help them pay the lowest amount of taxes required by law. No cheating, no subterfuge- just availing themselves of all the laws that afford folks to pay their taxes- but only the amount they owe, not some number that is afforded by plugging in numbers to TurboTax, H&R Block, TaxAct, etc.
XXXish
Today is the (censored) anniversary of the birth date for my eldest daughter. Of course, we use the time a baby breathes its first, but Shoshana took way more than a day from the time her mother’s water broke to enter into the world.
Don’t wait for that certified letter!
Long ago (way back when I was married), I remember when my ex bought a slew of furniture to redo our living room. All directly from the North Carolina factories. (It was her money and I had no say in the purchase or the choices. But, that’s NOT the point of this discussion.)

A billionaire. Why would I write about a billionaire?
Because this guy, who just died at the tender age of 103, started one of the biggest trucking firms. And, when I was running my own trucking company, his trucks were everywhere around the Commonwealth. We might have been a big private carrier, but we were dwarfed by his frim.
