Two score and two years ago. Yes, it was that important that I can invoke the memory of the Gettysburg Address, one of the finest speeches ever made. I met Sam 42 years ago. He was a young man then (and I was a kid).

Yesterday, I spoke about my trip to New York City for an art exhibition.
Art on Paper
Those of you who have visited my home (for Shabat dinner? for a holiday party?) or just read my blog routinely know that I LOVE art. My home is replete with paintings, drawings, sculptures, and crafts. Dali, Max, Erte, Agam, Egbi, Imber are among the many different artist’s compositions hanging on my walls, in cabinets, or on the floor.
Don’t tell her no, no, no!
Almost 6 decades ago, folks could have told me to shut up. (OK. They did. I didn’t listen. I still don’t.)
Uh-Oh.
No. I am not worried about the “unlucky” number 13 that is today’s secular date. (It is also Shushan Purim, 15 Adar.) I’m worried that many of you have forgotten that the rules have changed.
Tomorrow Night… What a night!
Saturday night starts a great holiday for me- Purim. (Purim means “Lots”- as in the lottery. But, it was only after a few twists and turns that we managed to eke out a win with this lottery.) My family tradition adds on a second day- Shushan Purim, the name for the second day; most Ashkenazi Jews rarely celebrate it- for them, it’s a one day holiday.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…
So, I was driving home from a business trip and got caught in a snow squall. Which, except for a very brief flurry session (which left my trees covered in white- but the streets and sidewalks clean as a whistle), it had been the only snow I’ve seen this winter. (Our temperatures have actually been in the 60s and 70s- in February and now also in March!)
Weekend Warriors
I’ve written how exercise is critical for our physical and mental health- including controlling obesity. And, that it seems walking 6 miles a week is a pretty functional way to achieve the desired long term results. Most of the research is based upon exercising several days a week (5 days, every other day, etc.)
Who knew?
I’ve been writing this blog (on this site and another) for a l-o-n-g time. And, the other day, I was seeking the first time that I ever mentioned a certain topic.
A RAID???? I think not…
I’ve often written how I was bound and determined to develop concepts for dialysis since I was a tyke. OK. Maybe not a tyke in the true definition (not that it’s all that clear how old a tyke may be), but by 8 years of age.
