Sunshine Superman!

Imagine my surprise.  In the middle of a snowstorm, Martha brought me a ray of sunshine.  Yup. She nominated me for the  Sunshine Blogger Award.

Sunshine Blogger Award
The Sunshine Blogger Award

She probably thought I forgot about it by now.  But, my queue was pretty long when I was honored and I needed to find a space and time to insert my response.  Given that today is the new month (moon) of Adar; and both this Hebrew month and the secular month of February are leap years, I figured today’s the perfect day.

Like many other blogging awards, the requirements are to thank the one who thought enough of you (and maybe was stuck to find yet another person to add to his/her list), nominate others, and answer some questions.  Let me tell you that choosing 11 other folks is a bit of a task.  Because many of the ones I would have chosen have already been tapped!  But, here goes…

First, thank you, Martha DeMeo.  (I know, I already thanked you.  Too bad. You are now thanked twice.)   Martha’s blog- The Martha Review– covers a variety of subjects.  Oh, and she’s approaching her 40th anniversary of being married to her sweetheart!

And, now to answer the personal, 11 questions that came with this nomination:

  1. How long have you been blogging? I have been blogging for some 10 years- but this site has been continuously fed for a little more than 6 years now.
  2. What is your favorite style of music? Like everything else in my life, I have a plethora of interests.  Jazz, alternative rock, folk rock, modern classical all tickle my fancy.
  3. Do you prefer Apple or Android Phone? I buy NOTHING Apple. But, now that there has been regime change, I might consider Apple in the future.  But, they need to cease using slave labor (you can call it what you like) in China before I can consider using my capital to advance such heinous practices.
  4. What is your favorite flower?    How about an orange rose?
  5. Is light, dark or white chocolate your favorite? All chocolate wins with me.  But, white seems more exotic – at least for today.
  6. Have you been on a cruise and if so, where? I’ve been on cruises to Alaska, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, among others. All with fond memories- even the one where the engines failed and another where we were enveloped by a hurricane.
  7. What is your favorite season?   Oregano. Oh, wait, you meant season of the year.  When I lived on the ocean, it was summer.  Living where I live now, Spring.
  8. Do you like fruits or vegetables better? Like my chocolate preferences, there are none here, either.  I eat salads almost every day.  And, a banana, an apple, a pear, and dried fruits are part of my daily regimen, too.
  9. How often do you write articles in your blog? I publish my blog five days a week. But, I write my articles when the juices flow.  There can be 1, 5, or 20 written in a sitting.
  10. Do you like to barbecue? I used to BBQ to satisfy my kids.  But, I truly enjoy my oven and stove.  (Besides, it’s healthier.  See here.)
  11. If you are married, do you have children and if so, how many? I’m not married.  But, I have three kids of my own and two ‘lost’ step children.

Now, for my nominees.  Who are to answer the same queries that I did above.

Marian Allen. http://www.marianallen.com  Who writes about books and local businesses.

Alana Mautone.  http://ramblinwitham.blogspot.com Who writes about the Binghamton New York área- and rambles beyond, too.

Holly Jahangiri.  http://jahangiri.us/  Who shares her 2 cents with us about lots of things.

Mike Alton.  http://www.thesocialmediahat.com/ Who writes about SEO and blogging.

Nick Roseblade.  https://thisyearinmusic.wordpress.com/ Who reminds me how old I am as he introduces me to the newest music out there.  Which I like immensely.

Meg Gerard. http://www.mappingmegan.com Who has picked up the mantle I dropped and travels the world.  Obviously, she doesn’t mind the new cattle-car accommodations the aviation industry provides.

Midge Gordon. http://www.midgegordon.com Who rhapsodizes about the bohemian life.  A time gone by for me.

Martha Murdy Orlando.  http://marthaorlando.blogspot.com  Who write about life.  From a Christian perspective.  Obviously different from mine.

Paul Taubman.  http://digitalmaestro.com  WordPress. More WordPress.  And MORE WordPress.

Amy Young Miller.  http://vomitingchicken.com   No, she doesn’t really talk about vomiting chickens.  OK, maybe.  But not all the time.  (Mostly about kids, love, home life.)

Earl Smith II.  http://www.dr-smith.info   Business related information for entrepreneurs and managers.

Congratulations to one and all.  Even the ones I forgot to include!

  1. Great answers Roy! I feel the same way about chocolate as you do! I also like the bit of humor on the “seasons” or should I say “seasonings”!
