We celebrate Christmas Today
Merry Christmas. Yes, I know it’s the 23rd- but most companies consider today and Monday to be holidays, since Christmas lands on a Sunday.
So, this is Christmas
Merry Christmas. The last one of the decade. To you. Not me. It’s not my holiday. Nor have I ever considered celebrating.
So, this is Christmas
Merry Christmas.
Now that we got that out of the way (I could have wished you season’s greetings, just to piss off TheDonald, TheRyan, and MitchWhatMeWorry. But, I’ve never done that. Because I am wishing you greetings for your holiday.)
Merry Christmas!!!!
No, it’s not my holiday. Nor have I ever considered celebrating.
But, that doesn’t mean we don’t have our own family traditions revolving about this day. For years, I’d haul my kids to the local Shoneys. One of the few places open on Christmas morning. (By the time my youngest [son] turned 9 [by then, he was the only child in the home], the Shoneys had closed. So, we switched to a local [hole-in-the-wall] diner, which also had a Santa and a brunch.) Where we’d enjoy a wonderful brunch and watch the store Santa visit all the little kids. Which brought joy to mine, seeing the happiness in others.
Dedication on the 25th
So, it’s getting close to the first or second holiest day of the year for Christians. And, it’s getting close to a minor holiday for Jews. One that Christians tend to elevate so that they feel they are “giving equal time”.
