Whether you drink 4, 6, 8 or 12 glasses of water a day- we all know it’s critical to stay hydrated. And, despite the fact that i used to drink 20, 30, or 40 cups of coffee a day- that was not the way to hydrate one’s body. (I don’t drink that much coffee anymore- nor do I drink any pop.)
Most of you know that I am a ChemE. (I am lots of other things, but I have wanted to be a ChemE since I’ve been a tyke and I approach almost everything I do using the mindset of this discipline.)
I’ve written that it’s probably the end of an era at St. Elmo’s. Not that the new owners have made lots of changes (except to the charge card system- but that may be just a minor glitch) and a vendor switch (you knew they would want to use their own restaurants to provide the sandwiches).
Ah, yes, if it’s a day ending in “y”, the odds are you’ll find me at St. Elmo’s, my favorite coffee place. Where I have my own mug that is constantly being refilled. And, the aromas- they are just glorious. (And, those few tourists, who break the rules and use a cell phone, get attacked for creating halfalogue terror.”)
What is it about Starbucks that makes people keep coming back? I don’t know about you- but I detest their coffee. It simply tastes burnt to me. (And, it’s not just me. My friends and clients also have the same feeling- even as they purchase gallons of their mixtures.)
