Hup, two, three, four
Summer’s over. Which means- for most of us- it’s the season of gaining weight and getting out of shape. Exactly why I am talking about exercise today.
Diet For Life
What do we do when we just can’t lose weight?
No, don’t tell me we’re not trying hard enough. Some folks have fallen into the black hole of (no) weight loss- metabolic syndrome. I know that sounds like gobbledygook- and to some degree it is. Because it is not an illness per se, but a combination of risk factors that mean the subject is not losing weight, can succumb to heart disease, and/or diabetes.
Under Pressure…
A new study using the data from the National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions, in particular some 21,859 folks employed over the age of 18 was just completed. “Anxious? (My ex-wife was stupefied the first time she was presented with my reaction to a major crisis- she had expected a completely different scenario.)
What happens when you choose the wrong study upon which you base your actions…
Big data. Correlation vs. causation. Most people think that it’s imperative that we harness big data to find any correlations that exist. Without once determining what the theory is that could substantiate the correlation. (If you check back to my 19 April post, you will find the references to determine what is wrong with this concept.)
