Lots of new books about science, science deniers, and politicians are abounding. Of course, the politicians all tend to be science deniers, but that should surprise no one. Not the least of which, because most of them are attorneys, who probably never mastered science or technology when younger (and, hence, became lawyers).

Coal is still king? Well, the US certainly has an abundance of coal. And, a slew of power plants around the world are still running on coal. (Admittedly, many of them are in China.)

Sorry, though, it’s true. The data are now indicating that we yawn to cool our brains. Dr. Andrew Gallup (Princeton University) has been studying the effects of yawning on thermoregulation since 2009, when he was at SUNY Binghamton. (You’ll see how my brain gets cooled below, when I describe where I sit.)
