They’re hiding everywhere!

I have railed against lobbyists forever.   Even knowing that on at least one occasion, I might have been construed as one.   The difference is that no one was paying me to do what I did.  (I believed- no, I knew- we needed to have the US Government to pay the costs for dialysis for American citizens.)

Of the people, by the people, and for the people?

From the second John Kerry was attacked via the “Swiftboating” episode, I knew that Americans (and, given that we seem to invading other countries electoral political process, the world) were in for a heap of trouble.  You see, the group (I am clearly being of generous mood, here) behind this attack, the “Swift Boat Veterans for Truth” was a 527 organization.   A “tax exempt” organization that focuses on  “issues”.

Really? This is the Fiscal Cliff Act?

Many of you know I spent a great portion of my life in the dialysis arena.  From the time I was eight years old, I wanted to develop an artificial kidney.  So, I’ve seen a lifetime- and then some- of changes to the therapy.  From the first “washing machine” devices, to flat-plates that required soaking-spreading-tightening, to the disposable devices of today.
