This Sunday will be the first night of Chanuka. Its English calendar date is not fixed; Chanuka always falls on the 25th day of Kislev, which has a different English date every year. (This year, the first night is the 18th of December.)

Profiteering
I know, I know. You are pissed as hell that gasoline prices are over $ 5 a gallon. And, that means freight prices are zooming up, so our food and sundry items are also manifesting inflationary increases.
Let’s Pump More Oil to Punish Russia.
Some 22 days ago, I agitated that President Biden and Mitch McConnell (as the titular leaders of their respective parties) lean on (at least) the smaller oil producers in the South and the Midwest to up their production. Not just to counteract the removal of Russian Oil from the market place , but because, as happened in the past, as our oil production increases, the price per barrel drops precipitously.
Stop Putin Now!

The Festival of Lights
WooHoo! As I told you on the 13th (which was Friday the 13th), today is the first day of Chanuka. (That also means last night was the first night of the holiday.) It’s not usual that Chanuka virtually coincides with the holiday of Christmas. As a matter of fact, just a few years ago, Chanuka coincided with Thanksgiving. The holiday of Chanuka always falls on the 25th day of Kislev, which has no “fixed address” on the Gregorian calendar.

Can you hear those snickers? The gutting of Dodd-Frank
A little crude?
The economy is picking up. Maybe even to a level that will truly change the situation for the Middle Class. But, no matter what any politician says, one of the biggest reasons The US economy is picking up is because the price of oil is tanking. (Don’t you just love that metaphor?)
