Medicaid Expansion

So, when the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was passed, it had a Medicaid component.  It was left to the states to add that component as a benefit to their residents; if chosen, it would alter the way Medicaid reimbursement worked in that state.

What Hath Obamacare Wrought?

I know, I know, I’m old.

Back when I was considering colleges, this place was called Drexel Tech. Even when I applied to grad/med schools, that’s what it was.
Now, it’s Drexel University- a hop, skip, and jump away from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  (Right next door to Union Station- the grand railroad depot- in Philly, too!)  And, it even houses a medical school- and a school of public health now!

It’s Open Season!!!!

It’s open season!

Healthcare.gov 2019Yup, until the 15th of December, we can change our healthcare plan- if we are under the age of 65.  PPACA (aka Obamacare, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) actually demands we sign up for the plan by the ides of December.

To misquote Nikki Haley, one of the very few ethical members of TheDonald’s retinue, “I don’t get confused”.  (In case you don’t know about this, she was left hanging after she announced this past week that Steve Mnuchin would be detailing further Russian sanctions for their part in the Syrian poisoning, only to be “clarified”  by TheDonald.)

Sabotage!

I’m sure you realize that I will be updating the information on the new tax laws soon. I haven’t decided if I will rewrite the 9 blogs that covered the House and Senate version or just “X” off the parts that didn’t make it to the signed version.  (I’m leaning towards the latter- with only two or three posts to cover the individual and business tax provisions.)
