It’s a New Year Celebration
I have a busy weekend prepared. Tonight (and tomorrow night), I will be watching my beloved Phillies- it’s the last weekend of playing at home this season. Sunday morning, I will enjoy breakfast with my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Then, I will hightail it to Brooklyn, to spend Rosh Hashana with my son and his wife.

Rosh Hashana 5782
Today is the last day of the month of Elul. (Many Jewish months have two days to celebrate the advent of the new moon- this is one such month.) That means that some 30 days of our self-assessment and personal improvement program has elapsed. The goal has been to determine how we can make our lives- and the lives of others- better. (You can also search for Elul in the index to the left and see more of my thoughts on this “resolution-making” period.)
Tonight- an auspicious eve
The month of Elul is about to end. As I wrote on one of the first days of Elul, when the period of self-assessment begins, we are 30 days into the 40 day period of determining how we can make our lives- and the lives of others- better. (You can also search for Elul in the index to the left and see more of my thoughts on this “resolution-making” period.)

Where did the moon go?
In two days, the month of Elul will end. Five years ago, on the first day of Elul, I described the process of self-assessment. Today we are 28 days into the 40 day period of determining how we can make our lives- and the lives of others- better. (You can also search for Elul in the index to the left and see more of my thoughts on this “resolution-making” period.)
