Come on! I can’t be all coronavirus, all the time! Despite the pandemic. We need some comic relief.

Pop goes the weasel?
And the data keeps piling on.
Two years ago, I shared the data that pop is simply something we shouldn’t include in our- and especially our kids’ diets. Yes, I know- up until two decades ago, I was imbibing gallons of pop each and every day. (At least 6 liters of Diet Coke and about 24 ounces of Chocolate Cherry pop.) But, I stopped- cold turkey. (So should you!)
Where’s My Health Choice?
OK. Today we are going to think about what we really want.
You know what I mean. We say we want car companies to offer a plethora of vehicles that get a zillion miles to the gallon. We say we want food companies to offer really healthy foods. We say that beverage firms should offer the same.
Damned if you do, Worse if you don’t!
For years, I drank Diet Coke. (Actually, I switched from Diet Rite to Diet Coke the second it was available. Or, maybe before it was commercially available. But, that’s a separate story.) Not just drinking Diet Coke, but devouring it.
Impulse buy?
I always am amazed at the plethora of junk at the CVS checkout counter. (Yes, Rite-Aid and Walgreens also have the same gazillion candy bars and gums.) Not so much at the grocery store anymore. Oh, there’s the occasional National Enquirer, soda pop, and a few candy bars, but not as many or as wide a choice as before. This doesn’t include the fact that more and more folks are getting their groceries delivered (and don’t set foot into the store itself).
Will this Pop pop?
I admit it. I used to be a Coke junkie. Oh, that’s not true. I was a Diet Coke junkie. 24 bottles minimum- until they came out with 2 liter bottles , and then it was 3, 4, or 5 of them each and every day of the year. (Th is routine was supplemented by 6 cans of Diet Cherry Chocolate pop- for my dinner dessert.)
