Geez. I can’t stand these politically correct terms. Why not just thank my postman or my postlady? (When I grew up it was only men; thankfully, the government has grown up and lets any gender bring us our mail.)

A long time ago, there was a riddle (joke?) that explained the vagaries of American jurisprudence.
Imagine approaching an intersection- one without a traffic light, a stop sign, or a yield sign. (I told you this was a long time ago.) 
Approaching in front of you is an ambulance with lights flashing, from your left a police car with sirens blaring, and on your right an approaching mail-coach. Which vehicle has the right of way?
Believe it or not, it was the US Mail coach. The US Government had arrogated to itself and its agencies the right of way in all situations.

It’s happening again.
Most of you know that I am generally a fan of the US Postal Service. I don’t think service should be cut to 5 days a week. (But, if they did, I think Wednesday is the right day to cut- not Saturday. As it is, many of my newspapers [theoretically printed LOCALLY on Thursday] arrive Saturday or even Monday. Without Saturday delivery, I will probably cancel their subscriptions, since I, unlike my father, don’t read news that is a week old.)

Most of you know that I live in metropolitan DC. Which means that bsides all the cameras the Feds have installed to spy on us, we have a plethora of traffic cameras.
I need to get this out of my system. This is not my “shtick”- it’s something Jeffrey Scott has perfected. But, I am just fed up with the way things have been for the past two weeks and if I keep this bottled up, I will explode. Once I share this with you- I will be free to move on (pun intended). (Or sue…)

Here we go again. The US Congress is complaining that the US Postal Service (USPS) is losing money. And, they can’t figure out why. Instead of fixing the problems, they plan to cut Saturday delivery (why not Wednesday?) and adjust another problem they caused the Service with its pensions. (I’ll address that below, too.) And, you wonder why I doubt the intelligence of our Congressfolk and Senators?
