So, when I visited my son (he lives in Downtown Manhattan), I just had to visit my old library haunts. One of them is the main library building in Manhattan- the one in Bryant Park. (This used to be the site of the prime reservoir for New York City; the water supply moved upstate and this site because the library.) The other was the library that used to be open 24-7, the Mid-Manhattan Library.

Grow, Grow, Grow
Growing a business takes cash. That cash either comes from operations, loans, or investors. I’ve used all three vehicles to grow companies and I can tell you that the path is always clear- but never clear-cut. There are all sorts of obstacles- ones you may recognize and negotiate, one you may miss completely, and some that just seem insurmountable. The trick is always to find the best way to reach the goal.
Seniors at home?
It was about 20 years ago this time of year that I started a new venture with a client. Back then, computers were ubiquitous in business- but the internet was not. And, our company employed technology- automated telephone dialers and push button phones (wow- that was tech back then) to keep tabs on retired parents for their children living in the New York and DC areas. (The goal was to eventually go national, after the shakedown phase. But, Ellie decided that the siren call of Oregon – and her soon to be husband- overshadowed her desire to be an entrepreneurial success.)
What I learned from Chanuka- and a Wedding
I was honored to be invited to a wedding of two friends- Rick and Maraji. These two wonderful people decided to have the ceremony in their home on Rosh Chodesh (the new moon) of Chanuka. (Oh, it was also on a Tuesday- the day of creation when Hashem said it was a good day- twice!) The wedding was wonderful- their words to each other- and us- clearly evoked my emotions.
