We have finally gotten through the primary season in the US.  (this piece was written when there were still five or six to go.) And, not surprisingly (unless you are a Republican muckety-muck), the majority of votes cast went to those railing against the existing powers.  Whether it was The Donald, Bernie Saunders, Scott Taylor (who beat Congressman Randy Forbes), or a slew of others- that was the key point.  “Other” wins in today’s cycles.

Propaganda

I admit it. I am an old fart.

Old enough to have participated in the battle to change the laws that afforded (almost still) civil rights and equality for Blacks. Old enough to have participated in the campaign to stop the war in Vietnam. Old enough to have shamed the Soviet Union to release its Jewish citizens that were being persecuted.

It was 40 years ago today… (No, it’s not Billy Shears!)

A milestone- I thought.  It was 40 years ago today.  The day for which I had longed, cajoled, suffered injuries, blockaded federal and college buildings.  The ending of the Vietnam “War”.  You know, one of the first wars we fought that were never declared.

So, there’s a new book- one that will probably tick you off.  Not because it’s annoying, but because, if you are like most people, you had no idea that the facts reported in the paper (and CERTAINLY on the web) are highly suspect.
