One of the services we provide our small business clients is to insure that the payment of reasonable compensation. No, I don’t mean what they pay their employees (although we do that, as well, when requested). No, I am talking about the pay they take for themselves- the owners of the S Corporation or an LLC operating as an S corporation.
So, it’s President’s Day. One of those newfangled holidays I detest. I would prefer following the protocol of old, honoring Lincoln on the 12th and Washington on the 22nd. (NOTE: I currently reside in Alexandria, which considers the 22nd of February a local and personal holiday for its native son.) But, given that America has decided that we must venerate our presidents today, let’s pick on Thomas Jefferson, instead- and do Washington later this week on the 22nd.
Today is Valentine’s Day.
I grew up with this being a day celebrated by others. After all, it is “Saint Valentine’s Day” .(I know that Hallmark has been working overtime to make us all forget that first word in the title.) And, a child going to yeshiva (a Jewish [very] religious school) is not to be considering any day involving saints.
I am sure this will amaze you as much as it did I. Naproxen- the over the counter drug sold by (almost) everybody and their grandmother- is different from different vendors. Besides being sold as generic Naproxen, it is also sold under various “brand” names- Aleve, Naprelan, Naprosyn, Anaprox, Apronax.
There’s been a whole lot of hoopla about a CBO (Congressional Budget Office) report. The one that announced that 2.3 million Americans might opt to stop working over the next ten years. Because PPACA (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act- aka Obamacare) has given then something these folks didn’t have before.
