I’ve written about Norman Borlaug often. (Here’s but one example.) Back when I was younger, he was advocating for what we now call the Green Revolution. And, while Borlaug was promoting methods to increase agricultural yields world-wide, there was a competing voice, that of William Vogt.

The 12th…
On days like today, I miss not living in New York. Because, back when I lived in metropolitan New York, we had two secular holidays in February- Lincoln’s Birthday and Washington’s Birthday. Our 16th and 1st Presidents.
14 for 14
I was reading the Washington Post the other day , when it was discussing a study group that spent 22 years reviewing the Tora (the Five Books of Moses), under the direction of their rabbi, Rav Stuart Weinblatt. Which reminded me of what actions a group of us from my old synagogue accomplished.
“Polish Death Camps”. It’s a fact. Despite their new law.

9 billion now. 11 billion more coming real soon.
Yesterday (and the day before that), we spoke about IoT (Internet of Things) and how it is letting our children be the subject of spying. But, even with all those vulnerable toys, we must recognize that there are some 9 billion IoT devices in use right now. And, by 2020, that number will exceed 20 billion. So, we are not just talking about potentially errant toys!
