A big birthday for my daughter. The second to youngest- but still has 8 years on her brother.
This past year, she and her significant other traveled across the globe. To see what they could see. Leaving about a month past her last birthday.
And, as has happened on her birthday more often than not, it’s a holiday. One that does not permit her to go out and party today (but, watch out tomorrow) to celebrate that 0th birthday.
Because tonight begins the holiest day of our calendar. The Sabbath of the Sabbaths. Yom Kipur. The Day of Atonement.
Shira will celebrate the day as her day of at-one-ment. Where she takes stock of her life and prepares for the rest of her journey.
I can hardly wait!
Happy birthday, Shira Batya… I love you.
