Oh, Roy, not another article about the 1%. Well, yes, this is just that. How can you not discuss this teeny group that owns 1/2 of the wealth that obtains in the world? Read that again. 1% of the population owns 50% of the wealth.

Tax Falsehoods
Oh, the fictions our politicians weave. And, they hope- no, they expect- we, the citizenry will fall under their spell and believe them.
It’s time. No excuses.
Here’s a contrarian view to what so many politicians want you to believe. We must provide a social safety net for the poor. We must find a way to educate parents – and to find a means to let them have enough time- in between their two and three shifts of (part-time work)- to spend “quality time” with their kids. We must fund early childhood education.

Is there a STEM shortage?
So, here we go again. The economy seems to be looking better- maybe. The government reported that overall hiring is increasing in the US.
Is the Tax Code Fair?
We all have heard (or read) how middle class wealth has been devastated over the past quarter century. Even now, as the economy seems to be perking up, it’s only the very wealthy that are seeing those gains. Mostly because the stock market is way up (interest rates are so low, it’s the only place for the wealthy and the retired to park their funds)- and housing has still not recovered (which is where the bulk of middle class wealth is found) to those pre-2009 levels.
Tax Rate Fictions
I am so tired of hearing how corporations pay 35% of their income to the Internal Revenue Service. That fiction needs to stop- now. There are a slew of companies that paid nome o corporate inctaxes in 2012 (and years prior).
