Under Pressure

Here’s a fact. I have only stepped into WalMart twice in my life. Once when my good friend (whose wife seems to love the place) wanted to shop. (I was more than amazed that someone would venture to WalMart to shop.) The other time was when an ex-girlfriend needed to buy some pet food- and it was midnight. (It seemed the only shop opened near her was a WalMart).

Not my normal post…

This is not something I normally do.   No, this is something that my friend, Janette Fuller does.   She reviews books you- or your children- should read.  But, I am going to recommend a book for you today.  One written by the child (Sorry, Ilana, you are younger than mine- so you will forever be a child) of my good friends.  A woman (see, I can change) that I have known for most of her life.

Have Sales- Will Tax

If you think it’s just the federal government that is scrambling for revenue to cut their deficits, you are badly mistaken,  Almost every single state is desperate to increase the tax coffers to balance budgets and/or deal with immediate needs- including transportation needs.  And, one source they are desperate to tax is internet sales.  Some $ 23 billion a year escapes state coffers (National Conference of State Legislature estimates) because of the 1992 Supreme Court ruling that currently obtains.
