I wrote about Eliot Rosen and his work with oxygen for cancer therapy about a year ago. I thought at the time that his concept had great merit. Of course, cancer was not among my specialties, but… (Off topic. I just looked up Eliot Rosen and found he is now a board certified oncologist on the staff of Georgetown University. Glad to see he stuck with his love.)

More from yesterday- but no autism, this time
You know we all think that folks who die from lung cancer just couldn’t stop smoking. Because we’ve been programmed to believe that.

Cancer Therapy Advances
Breast cancer is one of the most prevalent issues for women. Given the fact that we know that BRCA-1 and BRCA-2 can be identified, one would think we could cut the dramatic effects of this trauma for women. But, we still haven’t.
Safe and Effective?
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to deal with FDA (Food and Administration) approvals for a variety of drugs and devices. I admit, sometimes, it did not quite seem to be an ‘opportunity’, but, generally, I was most appreciative of the process.
A new roadmap to conquer cancer?
I just lost a friend to cancer. One who was supposedly in remission. Until we found out her “stroke” was a cacophony of tumors in her brain- and the rest of her body. My father succumbed to three different cancers, simultaneously, and relatively quickly.
Better Cancer Treatment?
What to do? With that fateful diagnosis (or the knowledge that BRCA1 and/or BRCA2 genes are among your chromosomes)- a lumpectomy or total breast removal? We know what Angelie Jolie chose to do. A shot to be felt ’round the world?
We know the four letter curses, the 10 letter curses. But, we dread the 6 letter one… C A N C E R…… But, maybe not for much longer.

The Law of Unintended Circumstances
From 1988 to 2004, the incidence of human papillomavirus (HPV) cancers of the tongue and tonsil, has increased 225%. The number of oropharynx cancers is expected to rise to 8500 new cases annually by 2020. While not a large number, this means that its incidence will surpass the number of cervical cancers experienced by women. Continue reading The Law of Unintended Circumstances
