Music to my ears?

I’ve written about distracted driving a lot.  Because too many folks try to escalate the practice of talking on the phone (hands-free) to a national calamity.  When it is clear that talking on the phone is no different than talking to a compatriot in the same car or listening to talk radio, and certainly less of an issue than turning around to deal with one’s children in the car.

A WTF Moment. One that needs to be stopped- NOW!

I’m all for safety.  I’m all for logic.  When someone purports a safety rule that flies in the face of logic and DATA- then I say “WTF?”  That’s today’s (14 Dec 11) response.

We are not crazy- overheard cell phone conversations are VERY distracting

I spend most mornings before visiting with clients at St. Elmo’s (my local coffee shop). Besides reading the paper and discussing politics with friends (and, of course, the coffee), what I like most about St. Elmo’s is its firm NO CELLPHONE POLICY.  I am sure you, too, feel that overheard cell phone conversations are very distracting.  Well, Lauren Embersen, while she was an undergraduate at the University of British Columbia, thought so, too.
