I know. You are desperate to play the game. To search for your ancestors.
Not all of us are lucky enough to have living relatives who know our history. I learned about mine from my grandparents and great-grandparents. And, since part of the story always sounded just a “little”, I engaged in some fairly early DNA research. But, that certainly is different from the kind that is done now.
Cancer.
When you are done shuddering, let’s consider the changes in the therapeutic choices. Up until recently, it was radiation and/or chemotherapy.
I am getting pretty tired of folks abandoning logic. They listen to “facts” that are clearly malarkey – but because they desperately want to live in a make-believe world, they aver them to be true.
I bought T-shirts with just that statement for my girls (then, my only children) some three decades ago. It clearly was my sense of humor- but my sense of destiny and life.
So, I can feel somewhat complacent that horsemeat will not reach my lips. Because I only eat kosher meat, that circumstance where a “mistake” about sourced meat can’t really occur.
When one thinks about drug research, they rarely recognize that it’s often just a series of trial and error. One considers a series of potential drugs and determines if and how it works. Rational drug design is a completely different (and still a nascent) process.
