Where is Europe Getting its Gas?

About a year ago, I was advocating that we pump more oil to provide fuel to the EU (Okay, NATO) nations.  In particular, it was fracking production that would make the difference.  That way Europe would stop relying on Russian suppliers.  While no one officially joined in the chorus, it’s clear the powers that be did.

May Day

I remember the first time I experienced an earthquake.  I was in Long Beach (CA) and was awakened in the middle of the night.  I looked out my sliding glass doors and noticed that the pool was sloshing about.  True, it was early in the morning, but even my addled brain recognized that pools don’t slosh when no one was in them.

No fracking way!

I have been amazed that we have build many an ethanol plant in water short areas (like Florida). I have been even more amazed when these same facilities are not designed to reuse the water they employ, which would both save them money- and reduce their impact on the environment. Our numbers show these folks can increase their profits about 3 to 5 cents a gallon- after accounting for the cost of water treatment- by incorporating water reuse.
