Here’s another discussion about alcohol. But, this one has a completely different basis- so read it carefully!

Let’s get real. We are all old enough to understand what our risk factors are- including those in our family history. We also should maintain a list of our daily medications.
Whom do you trust? At least thrice a year, reports come out to confuse us- one says that wine consumption is good for us, another admonishes that wine consumption is bad for us.
The data has been in for a long time. Walking is a great way to keep us healthy.
While a 15 minute stroll can help us keep our attitudes in check, our weekly totals should be 6 miles. Yes, walking 6 miles a week can keep us in great health.
A decade. 2600 posts, give or take.
Now, of course, you probably assumed that I was reticent for some 6 decades and then, poof, all of a sudden, I decided I had something to say. (Yeah, I didn’t think you thought that, either.)
I know it’s Valentine’s Day. (This is about helping our loved ones [and ourselves], I promise.)
I’m going to share some information with you (and provide some directed actions) that will simply be rated M for mature. (No, no porn here- that’s the province of Stormy Daniels, not me.) And, it’s not only for our senior citizens (like me)- it certainly applies to everyone who has a family. Because we never know.
You heard that drinking a glass or two of wine did wonders for our health?
Well, maybe it’s not a fact. (Don’t bank on it, though.)
Don’t get me wrong. I love parks. When my kids were young, we walked (or, occasionally drove) to them to enjoy the gorgeous views, the trees, the grass (and, sometimes the play equipment). I still ride my bike along the Potomac River, the C&O Canal, the O&D Trail enjoying the view as I hustle along.
I remember the very first time. The first time I saw- in person- what was called the Wailing Wall. Back then, one traveled a narrow path to get to two stacks of trash and debris. You walked between the stacks and all of a sudden- there it was. The Wall.
So, another one of those blessings that has come about from Obamacare (there are many that are easily demonstrated)- even though this is more a byproduct than a design- is that our medical lab results are now coming to us in a fashion that most of us can understand. (I do believe that is the longest sentence I have ever written!)
