It seems that toy makers don’t really care if their ideas put our kids at risk. In their drive to conquer tot’s attention (and parents’ dollars), these folks are running amok with IoT offerings. (If you don’t know about IoT- and it’s insecurity- check out my blog series. This is the first blog in the series.)

A great question- answered
The other day, Paul Taubman (The WordPress Help Guy) commented on my blog. (OK. Not the first time, but this comment is important.)
The new tax law has hidden surprises
By now, you may have been contacted by your employer to change your federal and state exemptions. Both because it’s a new year- and because of the tax law that was enacted last year. Normally, you can follow the instructions that you are provided. (But NEVER choose 9 or more exemptions- even if you think that makes sense, because that sets off alarms with every tax agency. I’m not saying you are wrong- I am just saying, why bring on the aggravation.)
Oodles of noodles?
I’ve written many times that my mom was a terrible cook. Which is one of the reasons why when when she inherited the responsibility to host our family Pesach Seder (for all of some 28 folks), we picked up the pre-cooked meals at a West Hempstead (kosher) caterer.
Merry Christmas!!!!
No, it’s not my holiday. Nor have I ever considered celebrating.
But, that doesn’t mean we don’t have our own family traditions revolving about this day. For years, I’d haul my kids to the local Shoneys. One of the few places open on Christmas morning. (By the time my youngest [son] turned 9 [by then, he was the only child in the home], the Shoneys had closed. So, we switched to a local [hole-in-the-wall] diner, which also had a Santa and a brunch.) Where we’d enjoy a wonderful brunch and watch the store Santa visit all the little kids. Which brought joy to mine, seeing the happiness in others.
Fidgetty?
You know those overnight sensations that take decades to become so? Well, that’s what we are going to talk about today. Moreover, it’s going to involve two things near and dear to my heart- Israel and chemical engineering!
I’ve earned my grey hair!
Yes, my birthday is 9/9. Tomorrow. The 9th day of the 9th month- at least that’s what it is in the secular calendar. And, tomorrow is also the anniversary of my Bar Mitzva. That’s not happened before.
Are you paying attention?
Hmm.
I just read an article that is not satisfying. Not because it is wrong (although…), but because of the findings it discussed.
Where’s My Health Choice?
OK. Today we are going to think about what we really want.
You know what I mean. We say we want car companies to offer a plethora of vehicles that get a zillion miles to the gallon. We say we want food companies to offer really healthy foods. We say that beverage firms should offer the same.
NRAM
Interestingly, we have become overcome with baloney holidays (Grandparents Day, Secretary’s Day, Clergy Appreciation Day, Bosses Day…that should be MORE than enough). obviously, these are critical to the financial success of Hallmark and American Greetings- and not many other folks.
