Captive Insurance (2)
Yesterday, I explained how captive insurance companies are supposed to work. They serve as a means to minimize the risk, but don’t leave policyholders without any recourse- or, in the case of our firms, any potentially harmed folks without any chance to recover damages. Today, I will explain how this process is being subverted- these captives are being formed to rip off the public.
Do you believe in Fairy Tales?
I saw a great picture on Facebook the other day. (OK- great, as in this really sucks.) It showed a monopoly board and overwritten it said:

I normally don’t post on holidays- but this is an exception I will make. Because I think this holiday needs a lot more “oomph”.

Every business is different. Yet, every business has many, many similar components. Serving as the CEO for jewelry manufacturing venture is different from serving as the CEO for a dialysis clinic- and different still from being the managing director for a law firm. Right now, I am considering whether I wish to help start- and then manage a new health care clinic- one with a business model that will be radically different than what is normally seen.
Social Responsibility
Mazon held a informational gathering on Social Responsibility a few weeks ago at Adat Shalom in Bethesda (they called it Potomac), Maryland.
