We can (no, should!) enhance creativity in our kids and employees. Because our genetic composition only provides about 1/3 of our creative capabilities (eugenics). The rest of our creative juices are developed as a result of the environment in which we grow and live (euthenics).

Uncompensated Care
Lately, data are indicating that the seemingly inexorable rise in our health care costs may be attenuating. Is this real? Or, just an artifact? Given that there are large variations in health costs across the US, what does this trend mean for our local, state, and federal taxes. And, given that these difference in regional costs will become exacerbated as more (Republican) states refuse to run their own health care exchanges, some of us are in for additional costs.

I am always amazed (annoyed?) at the innumeracy of the American (ok, the world’s) populace. It’s one of the ways polemicists can convince folks of certain “facts”– even when there is no logic behind their words.

An upcoming publication in the Journal of Social, Psychological, and Personality Science (lead author Christopher Nave) indicates that our personality traits seem to be set at very early ages. This does not mean that people can’t change; it’s a more difficult process, but it can occur.
