Last night (this should automatically post around 6 am on Thursday) started a most unusual holiday. This is the last one that requires me not to work until April.  (Good.  Now, I can make some money!) The bible gives us very little clue about this holiday.  It’s called the Eighth Day of Assembly (Shmini Atzeret).

Do you allow golden calves?

Less than 40 days after the Israelites had their compelling encounter with the Supreme Being, they did something foolish.  They constructed a golden calf, an idol, an affront to that very Supreme Being that got them out of slavery and let them cross a sea- unscathed- while the Egyptian army perished in that self-same sea. What leadership lessons can we learn from this?

Characteristics of Leaders Have Not Changed Through the Ages

OK.  You started your company.  Does that make you the leader?  The answer is maybe- because a leader must be able to inspire his/her stakeholders to achieve.   Not only that- but, as you grow your organization, you have to find and train other leaders to help accomplish your mission.

Two tales- one true, one fiction.

So, my friend, Gustavo Silva, has started a new series about superheroes.  No, not like in the comic books, but how much of how they perform is really based in science.  I even recommended he check out a book that I read a long time ago (The Physics of Superheroes) to help bolster his case.  (That book is really developed to help explain principles of physics to “Everyman”, not to discuss Superheroes, though.)   And, it got me thinking…
