Back Door Man…

I’m sure you’ve heard that the Senate version of the (creatively named) Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is now going to attack PPACA (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act), affectionately (sic) known as Obamacare. But, if you don’t truly understand the intracacies of the bill, it will be difficult to discern how NOT collecting the tax penalty on those who don’t enroll in a health care plan can be used to reduce the deficit incurred by the behemoth of a bill.  (Sorry for all those negatives- but that’s the true concept.)

Hurry Up. Less than 45 days left

It starts.  Today is the beginning of open season.  Time to choose our health care plan.  Or, if you are like me and entitled to Medicare, today is the day to decide to ADD to the mandated service.  Because years ago, the government cut Medicare provisions.  Now, we need to choose a drug plan and a Medicare Advantage plan to cover all those things that aren’t covered.  Or pay through the nose.

Today, I ‘ll discuss some of the upcoming changes to PPACA (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare) that are coming.  Yes, I’ve brought some of them up– and because there’s a lot of information, I will continue this discussion tomorrow, too.

Here we go again.  Not only, as I’ve reported before, has TheDonald shortened the open season for PPACA (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare), but he and his minions have been hard at work to prove that it is failing.  By making it fail- or at least continually trying to kill it.

More finagling with Obamacare. TheDonald keeps screwing with the insurance companies so that PPACA will die. And, since he is clearly the smartest person in the world (do you think he drinks Dos Equis?)- NOT, he is positive that the world will believe that he didn’t kill it, but it died a natural death. (Hmm. Must be like the Nazis and KKK- that had a torch march on Friday night, threatened the Jews of Charlottesville (without guns while they marched, with guns by the only synagogue in Charlottesvile), and employed vehicular manslaughter (with 19 others maimed and hurt)- were the ones endangered and justified in their actions.)

Open Season?

I know, I know.  You’ve had it up to here about health care reform.  But, this is important.

We know that the GOP has failed to repeal Obamacare.  We also know that TheDonald will do everything in his power to make it fail- and try to blame that on Obama.  Except any failure will be his fault. But, that’s not the point of this post.  (I will be posting another discussion on this topic in 3 months, when Open Enrollment starts in.)

You know those claims about tax loopholes? OK. They aren’t claims, they are basically true. The problem is that one person’s loophole is another’s tax preference. After all, those who rent their homes don’t get any assistance, but those who borrow $ 999,999 to pay off their home in 30 years- they get to deduct their mortgages. And, we know that those who rent are generally of lower income than those who have these high mortgages.
