Ah, the use of a quote out of context…
Chaim Herzl wrote (he did not speak a word of Hebrew)…
אם תרצו, אין זו אגדה; ואם לא תרצו, אגדה היא ואגדה תישאר

Today is the day… One that will probably match the revolution in health care that arose almost 50 years ago. That was Medicare. This one, which will be revised as often and for the same reasons that we refined Medicare- is popularly (or is that infamously) known as Obamacare (PPACA is the legal abbreaviation for the act.)
Our companions make a difference. The old rule of thumb was to examine your five closest friends- because they tell a great deal about you. Now, there’s data that roommates (at colleges) dramatically affect the thinking of one another. If you are assigned a depressed or negative outlook individual- the odds are your outlook will begin to match theirs.
We all want our companies to grow. OK, some of us just want our companies to insure we have more money. (These are generally the lifestyle business folks- like plumbers, handyman, and the home workers.) Others of us are looking to really grow our businesses- gross revenue, bottom line (profit after taxes), employees, and notoriety.

We’ve heard all the complaints. The Death Panels. It will kill business employment. It goes on and on. But, there needs to be some sanity, some truth to the discussion.
I know, I know. We don’t talk about these in polite company. Well, I will be the 900 pound gorilla. And, I will be direct. Those of you who know me well will not be surprised.
I used to commute from Charlottesville (VA) to Long Beach (CA). Yes, really. It started out as three days in one place and four in another. It escalated (degraded?) into alternating 8 and 30 hour segments for some two or three years. (It’s how I learned how to sleep on airplanes- and get lets of work done on them, too.) But, it’s also how I learned to get plenty of planning done on my 75 minute drive (don’t figure out what speed that was) to Dulles Airport.
Why do I bring this up? Because, I have been driving to and from Citizen’s Bank Park every week or so, for years. And, on one of the rare occasions that I did this trip solo, I got a lot of thinking done, too. (Good thing- we’ve been working on a new concept. This gave me plenty of time to get the edges honed down.) I also figured out what makes my work with helping new and existing companies so exceptional. (I obviously have no problems with hubris 🙂 .)
