(I know I said today’s post would be the third in a four part series about cholesterol.  But, I must interject this reaction.   The series will continue tomorrow.)

 

Another example.

This past week. a 21 year old individual sat in a church for 40 minutes or so.  All that time listening to folks study their bible, hearing a state senator (Clementa Pinckney, who also was the pastor) teach them their weekly lesson.   At which time, the 21 year old, replete with invective and hate arose and proceeded to kill 9 individuals, including the church leadership.

Now, we hear folks trying to describe this as the problem with our nation’s (non-existent) policy on guns or how the scourge of mental illness affects us.

Bullshit. (Yes, I wrote the word out.)

This is a problem where a child- 21 years old- has been taught to hate others.  To act on that hatred.  (He was even given a gun by his father.)

It is NO different than the situation that pertained not too long ago in Paris, where two folks used machine guns to slaughter four Jews shopping for their Shabat wares.

It is NO different from Hamas teaching 4, 5, 6 year old (and older) children to use guns and carry bombs (suicide bombs, no less) to kill Jews for no reason other than they are Jews.

It is NO different from Al Qaeda convincing young Americans, French, Danes, Germans, Turks (among others)  to become suicide bombers and kill their fellow Westerners.

This is the language of hatred, racial prejudice, religious intolerance.

It is time for every American to consider how s/he acts and thinks- and transfers those thoughts to their children.

It is time for us to recognize that there is no room for such thought and action.

Because these killings, these actions have no place in modern society.   They have no place in ancient society, either- including the realm to which many claim they wish to develop and sustain- because those societies never existed the way these (idiotic) folks think they did.

No, actually, I am wrong.  It is way past time.
